Into The Woods

This production explores the extent in which we can continue believing the stories we hear during childhood and when we (inevitably?) have to face a more grim reality. Throughout the piece, the ensemble, who are dressed as children, gradually get dragged in to the plot as their own characters, suggesting that the entire story is an ellaborate playdate between children. Accordingly, this production is set where a neighborhood meets the woods, and all props are objects that children could have sourced themselves. For this work, I designed and created the props, alongside a props crew and scenic artist. I also was a scenic artist, and worked on the central, climbable tree on the set, as well as various other painting treatments on the concrete platforms.
